North London's Biggest Free Festival Comes To Town

East Barnet will get into festive mood again this Summer

Becomes a large auditorium and a fabulous setting for the annual Music, Dance, Theatre, Sport Stalls and Crafts Weekend

Inaugurated in 1995 by Barnet Council, the East Barnet Festival happens in Oak Hill Park EN4 8JS during June and July
Organised by an independent charity and aimed to improve the quality of life across the area, has become North London's largest Free Summer Festival

In all the local 'Free-Press' newspapers

An Amazing Funfair
Starts on Thursday and continues on Friday, for a single entry price each day
Ride the afternoon, and evenings away on these fantastic rides
On Saturday, and Sunday it's 'Pay As You Ride'

There's always been A Healthy Music Scene In Barnet
With an abundance of very talented bands and musicians
Well-known musicians such as Paul Young, and Lee Thompson (of Madness), live nearby
We have talented local musicians such as Tim Leffman, Gary Sear, Steve Mansbridge, Gill Sandell and Dave Cox, who have done so much over the years to keep music alive in Barnet
The place where you can hear many of them at their best is at The East Barnet Festival
Each year we give more local musicians the chance to show the community what can be done, and the list is still growing

This year will be no exception
You could sit on the grassy bank in the park and listen to free music all weekend

It's one of the best days out in Barnet !

The Music
Is spread across Three Performance Stages
The Main Music Stage is in action from Friday evening, again this year 'Friday Night Is Big Band Night' hosts a very popular music genre

The Start Up Stage (A Music outlet for new bands who want to take part, and experience performing to a live audience)
The Big Top, which showcase many local Dance organistations
Altogether over 100 bands applied to play during the 2016 weekend
Again this year a lot of bands are eager to be involved

In all we shortlist about 60, and then work from there until we arrive at a running programme of around 40 performers, and All must be listened to for this year to create an entertaining weekend

More than 120 Stalls join us for the weekend
In The Market Hall and Outdoors - on Gazebo Street.
All are offering a very wide range of Art, Craft, Garden, and locally produced merchandise

There's a Food Village with around 25 Food Stalls.All appetites are catered for, with a wide variety of Take-Away snacks and meals from around the world

Licensed Bar which always proves very popular, during what we hope will be good weather

A Small World
Our smaller visitors, will enjoy Games and Craft, A few doses of Punch and Judy, Go Karts, Bouncy Castle, and Strolling Performers and Entertainers

Teas In The Park
Strawberry teas, sandwiches, and Ploughman's Lunches will be served all day

Athletic Activities for all ages on Saturday

'Paws In The Park'
Let Rover show what a man's best friend can do on Saturday (run by The East Barnet Vets)

'Cars in The Park' is a gathering of your pride and joy. Bring your 'Money Pit' along to be admired and droodle over by local motor-heads

All creating a successful formulae for
'A Grand Day Out'

Barnet and Enfield Mayors are scheduled to attend again this year
We want to show them just what makes this festival the best open air event in their area
